  • Database Architecture & Design
  • Design and implement scalable and high-availability database solutions on AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL), PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL
  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and structures to support application and business requirements
  • Define data architecture standards and best practices
  • Performance Optimization & Tuning
  • Analyze and resolve complex performance bottlenecks
  • Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and storage configurations for high throughput and low latency
  • Security & Compliance
  • Implement robust data security measures including encryption, access controls, and audit logging
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy laws and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO27001)
  • Cloud Infrastructure Integration
  • Collaborate with DevOps and cloud engineering teams to deploy and manage database instances in AWS and Azure environments
  • Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Monitoring & Maintenance
  • Monitor database health using tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or third-party solutions
  • Perform regular updates, patching, and capacity planning
  • Collaboration & Documentation
  • Work closely with software engineers, data analysts, and product teams to support data-intensive applications
  • Document architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Future Roadmap: Design and support NoSQL data stores for high-throughput and flexible data models, reviewing technologies such as MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB, and Azure Cosmos DB

Job Requirement / Minimum Qualification:

  • 7+ years of experience in database architecture or data platform engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL database technologies, such as:
  • MongoDB
  • Amazon DynamoDB
  • Azure Cosmos DB
  • Proven experience with cloud data lake platforms and tools, including:
  • Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Snowflake
  • AWS Glue / Lake Formation / S3
  • Certifications AWS Certified Database, Azure Data Engineer are a plus.
  • Strong skills in data modeling, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
  • Understanding of global compliance standards such as ISO27001, GDPR, and PCI DSS.
